Yankton School District Alumni Association is excited to announce the hiring of Frani Kieffer as their new Director. The hiring of Kieffer is the first step in the launch of Yankton School District Alumni Association, previously known as the Yankton School District Foundation.
Kieffer brings over twenty years of nonprofit experience, along with a passion for public education. “After serving on the Yankton School District School Board for nine years, I felt a continued connection to the district. When I saw the position, I immediately knew it was an opportunity I wanted to pursue,” Kieffer said.
Yankton School District Alumni Association President Aaron Ness said, “We are excited to have Frani join and lead the Alumni Association. We were impressed with her experience, ideas, and passion for the organization.” Ness, after being involved previously with the Foundation, is excited for the launch of an organization to promote the school district and engage alumni from everywhere.
Kieffer’s primary responsibility will be to launch the Yankton School District Alumni Association. This will include engaging alumni and connecting them to each other and the current district students. In addition, the Alumni Association will help to support and enhance educational opportunities for students and staff in the Yankton School District
Dr. Wayne Kindle, Yankton School District Superintendent, said, “Frani will be an outstanding Executive Director for the organization. She has an in-depth knowledge of the Yankton School District as a parent and former School Board member. Frani will use her talented skill sets, personal relationships, and work ethic in taking the YSD Alumni Association to the next level.”
Kieffer was born and raised in White Lake, SD. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Augustana University and a master’s degree from The University of South Dakota. She and her husband, Jesse Kampshoff, have lived in Yankton for fifteen years and have three sons: a 2022 YHS graduate, a 2024 YHS graduate, and an eighth grader at Yankton Middle School.
Kieffer is excited to connect alumni, support students and staff, and engage the community. “I look forward to engaging with all of the alumni and champions of Yankton School District to create and implement future plans for the YSD Alumni Association,” she said.
