STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR 2024-2025
Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open, with the process exclusively online. No paper forms will be distributed this year. If you are returning next year and are in grades K-4, we ask that you register by completing the annual census update in Infinite Campus. This update is a vital part of our record-keeping process and ensures that we have the most up-to-date and accurate information on file for your child. If you are not returning next year, please call your child’s school to inform them of your move.
Completing the census update will enable us to communicate important school-related information with you, such as emergency alerts, school events, and academic progress updates. It will also help us to ensure that our school is compliant with federal and state regulations, including those related to funding and program eligibility.
To complete the annual census update, login to your Campus Parent Portal account. From the “Menu”, select, “More”, and then “Online Registration”. Please complete your annual census update by May 3, 2024. For further instructions, please visit https://www.ysd.k12.sd.us/o/ysd/page/school-registration

After assessing the road conditions in the rural areas, the late start for Yankton School District has been canceled. Yankton School District will not have school today, Tuesday, March 26 due to the poor road conditions and drifting snow in the rural bussing areas. Our first priority is the safety of the students, and these conditions put them at risk.
Dr. Wayne Kindle
Due to inclement weather, Yankton School District will have a 2 hour late start, tomorrow, Tuesday, March 26. There will be no morning preschool at Webster School and no morning Special Education Preschool at Stewart. All buses will run approximately two hours later than their normally scheduled time. Please check the Here Comes the Bus app to track your child's bus.
Yankton School District is in the process of applying for federal funding for the 2024-25 school year under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The statute contains several “titles,” three of which are applicable to a district of our size:
Title I, Part A = Title I Reading and Math
Title II, Part A = Improving teacher quality to fund staff development activities
Title IV, Part A = Student support in academic enrichment
A major focus in this legislation is parental, student, and community participation in the planning and designing of programs funded using federal education dollars. Please log onto the following website Monday, March 25, through Monday, April 1, 2024, to complete this brief survey:
