Thank you Bus Drivers! We appreciate you.

Yankton, SD-Yankton School District proudly announces the return of its highly anticipated Art Fair, scheduled to take place on April 26th and April 27th at Yankton Middle School. This vibrant showcase of artistic talents promises to captivate attendees with a diverse array of creations from budding young artists.
The Yankton School District Art Fair will be open to the public on Friday, April 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 and Saturday, April 27th, from 11:00 to 4:00. Admission is free, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend and support the talented Artist of the Yankton School District.

The flag rope to the large flag behind the Middle School was broken, and due to the high wind, the flag is hanging down. We have notified the cell tower company. They will come to fix it; however, the timeline for the repair is still being determined due to the lift rental and high winds.

STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR 2024-2025
Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open, with the process exclusively online. No paper forms will be distributed this year. If you are returning next year and are in grades K-4, we ask that you register by completing the annual census update in Infinite Campus. This update is a vital part of our record-keeping process and ensures that we have the most up-to-date and accurate information on file for your child. If you are not returning next year, please call your child’s school to inform them of your move.
Completing the census update will enable us to communicate important school-related information with you, such as emergency alerts, school events, and academic progress updates. It will also help us to ensure that our school is compliant with federal and state regulations, including those related to funding and program eligibility.
To complete the annual census update, login to your Campus Parent Portal account. From the “Menu”, select, “More”, and then “Online Registration”. Please complete your annual census update by May 3, 2024. For further instructions, please visit https://www.ysd.k12.sd.us/o/ysd/page/school-registration

The Yankton School District has their propane provider currently on-site at the YSD Administration facilities located at 2410 West City Limits Road. There is maintenance work being conducted on the large propane storage tank. This will include burning off any remaining vapors in the large propane tank, so our propane provider can make necessary repairs. We have been in direct contact with our local Fire Chief regarding this process. Please be advised there will be propane vapors being burned off the large propane storage tank located on-site just to the north-east of the bus maintenance shop. The actual burn-off will take place later this afternoon (Thursday) and on tomorrow (Friday) at the YSD Administration facilities located at 2410 West City Limits Road.

Yankton School District is in the process of applying for federal funding for the 2024-25 school year under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The statute contains several “titles,” three of which are applicable to a district of our size:
Title I, Part A = Title I Reading and Math
Title II, Part A = Improving teacher quality to fund staff development activities
Title IV, Part A = Student support in academic enrichment
A major focus in this legislation is parental, student, and community participation in the planning and designing of programs funded using federal education dollars. Please log onto the following website Monday, March 25, through Monday, April 1, 2024, to complete this brief survey:
