
Due to the forecasted winter storm moving into the area and being in a winter storm warning with much of the accumulating snow occurring during the school day, Yankton School District is canceling school and all activities for tomorrow, Monday, January 8. There is no school and no activities tomorrow.

7th ELA students had a Holiday Book Tasting today. We found some great new books to read! A big thank you all the families that donated treats and supplies!






The final day of classes for students in all grades prior to Christmas Vacation will be Thursday, December 21 and will be an early dismissal at 2:00 pm.
JrK-12th grade will be dismissed at 2:00 pm and buses will run accordingly. There will be no PM Preschool classes at Webster School or PM Early Intervention Preschool at Stewart School. Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

7th grade math students had fun making slime while they learned about ratios!








YMS students were able to learn about health care professions from Avera employees today! Thank you to our guest speakers, Sara and Doralynne, for educating our students. Thank you to one our Career Exploration teachers, Mrs. Olson, for organizing this opportunity.


7th and 8th grade artists created mythology inspired mugs that were on display at the band concert last night! These artists did an amazing job creating these monsters!









YMS 6th graders are learning for draw 3D objects (forms)! First, we draw each object by itself, then we draw the objects stacked together like this. This is called a still life! Still life drawings help us practice our skills.
