After a picking up another win at Brookings on Tuesday night, the Bucks will head west tomorrow to finish up the regular season. They will take on Spearfish on Friday at 9:00p CST, and then Sturgis on Saturday at 3:30p CST. Games will be live-streamed by KYNT and KVHT. GO BUCKS!

Here's a look at the schedule for the State Wrestling Tournament this week. For non-placing rounds the girls will wrestle prior to the boys. For example 9am Thursday morning the Girls will wrestle immediately at 9am on all mats followed by the Boys A &B on their designated mats.


Due to the forecasted wind chills in the early morning, Yankton School District will have a 10:00 AM late start tomorrow, Wednesday, February 23. There will be no morning preschool at Webster School and no morning Special Education Preschool at Stewart. All buses will run approximately one and a half hours later than their normally scheduled time.

In a game that went down to the final seconds tonight, the Bucks came up short losing to Tea 52-55. The Bucks go to 9-8 on the season and will look to bounce back at Brookings on Tuesday. Tip of is at 7:00p. GO BUCKS!!!

Members of the YHS Jazz ensembles spent time with University of South Dakota's Jazz Studies Director, Dr. CJ Kocher! Dr. Kocher gave both ensembles suggestions for improvement as our competition season is right around the corner!



Mrs. Pietz's English 9 students competed in a parts of speech escape room as part of a review.

The Bucks Basketball program would like to give a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Gross on his upcoming retirement after 37 years of teaching and coaching. THANK YOU for all you have done for our program and the influence you have had on so many players and students.


The Bucks picked up their second win in two days as they defeated RC Central this afternoon 59-39. The Bucks will play their last home game of the regular season against Tea on Thursday. It will also be SENIOR NIGHT. Varsity tips off at 7:30p. GO BUCKS!!!

The Bucks played a well balanced game on both ends of the floor tonight and defeated RC Stevens 56-43. They will have a quick turnaround and look to make it two in a row as they play RC Central at 2:00pm tomorrow. Sub Varsity games will start at 10:00am. GO BUCKS!!!

Congratulations to Benjamin Merkwan, Cohan Pietz, Kalea Thon, Eva Reyes & Damien Magnuson-Willman on being selected for the 2022 Quad State Honor Band. These students have rehearsed @ USD the past 2 days & will perform a 4 PM concert @ Slagle Hall, Aalfs Auditorium today.
