CONGRATULATIONS to Rugby Ryken on being named to the 2022 All Tournament Team! On a special note, Rugby joins his brother Rex on this special list of players who have earned this honor. Rex earned this same honor four years ago at the 2018 State Tournament.


Once again the Bucks played hard till the end, but just couldn't get their shooting going in a 32-54 loss to SF Jefferson. The Bucks' 8th place finish was not what we hoped for, but the experience for the boys will last forever. Until next year...GO BUCKS!!!


Last game today in a Bucks uniform for these three Seniors, We can't thank these three enough for the dedication and leadership they have given to our program. You are definitely leaving it in a better place, and never forget...ONCE A BUCK ALWAYS A BUCK!!!




The YHS Cheerleaders are ready to cheer on the Bucks this afternoon in the SDHSAA State AA Boys Basketball Tournament



Peg Olson, Kiwanis President, presented Math and Science Awards to Madisyn Bietz, Tim Merchen, Camryn Zoeller, and Samuel Kampshoff.


The Bucks ran into a hot shooting Mitchell team today and even though the Bucks lost 56-66, they kept fighting all the way to the end. The Bucks will now play in the 7th-8th place game tomorrow at noon vs Sioux Falls Jefferson and look to end the season with a win. GO BUCKS!!!

The Bucks played a tough, gritty game against the #1 seeded Rough Riders today, but fell to Roosevelt in the end 47-59. The Bucks will now try to take that intensity into tomorrows game against Mitchell. Tip off is at Noon. GO BUCKS!!!

Last home practice of the season before heading to the State Tournament tomorrow. No matter the outcome of the games this weekend, one thing is for sure...that the school and community of Yankton will be well represented by an exceptional group of young men! GO BUCKS!!!

In a game that went down to the final buzzer, Aberdeen's 3 point attempt fell short giving the Bucks a 47-44 victory! The Bucks will now wait to see who they will play in the first round of the State Tournament on March 17th. GO BUCKS!!!


YHS Band members showcased their talent at the Regional Solo/Ensemble contest in Lennox. The Band members came back with 8 Superior ratings and 1 Excellent rating! Congratulations on a job well done, band members!


The start time of the Yankton HS Boys Basketball SoDak 16 game at Aberdeen Central on Saturday, March 5 has been moved up from 6:00 PM to 2:00 PM due to impending weather concerns.

Bucks will head to Aberdeen Saturday to take on the Golden Eagles in the SoDak 16 game. Tip off is set for 6:00pm. GO BUCKS!!!


The Bucks finished off the weekend and the regular season with a solid win over Sturgis today 69-35. The Bucks finish with a 12-8 record and will now wait and see who they will play in the SoDak16 game next Saturday. GO BUCKS!!!

The Yankton Bucks got off to a fast start and never looked back as they defeated Spearfish 93-57. With the victory, the Bucks set a new single game scoring record! The previous record was held by the 1973-74 Bucks. The Bucks will now take on Sturgis tomorrow. GO BUCKS!!!
